Vendor Spotlight and Giveaway: Esther Lee Jewelry

New vendor Esther Lee is bringing her line of beautiful, handcrafted jewelry to Bliss Handmade for the first time next week. Esther says, "My name is Esther Lee, owner/designer of Esther Lee Jewelry, an eponymous line of unique, organically-inspired jewelry. My interest in jewelry began as a child; I had a lot of fun making jewelry using glass and plastic beads (ugh!). I'm sure my mom still has some of them! That early exposure led to a deep and lasting love of the arts, including painting, craft making, scrap booking, and most of all, creating jewelry. Now I enjoy using quality gemstones, sterling and goldfill to make unique works of art, designing high-end jewelry with a fashion-forward twist. Wire-wrapping, asymmetrical, and avant-garde are my favorites. Designing brings me peace and a joy that comes from creating something beautiful that someone will appreciate as much as I do!

Also among my passions are having fun with my family, especially outdoors: camping, swimming, hiking, boating and exploring the beauty of Oregon. My husband Jeremy and I have 6 kids and live in Eugene. My purpose & strength are found in my Savior & Friend, Jesus Christ. You can find my designs at the Eugene Saturday Market, where everything is handmade by local artisans, Booth #373.

Vendor Spotlight and Giveaway: More is Better!

One of our most popular vendors, More is Better!, is back again with her chic and sassy accessories for little girls. Creator Lizzie says, "When it comes to my girls and their accessories, more is always better. My name is Lizzie Walker and I am the mother of two beautiful girls. I got started making accessories when I was pregnant with my first baby. I love to project and making things for my kids is addicting. My project ideas usually come from something that I've seen in stores or on a little girl I've seen while out and about. One day while standing in line for a ride at Disney World, I saw a darling little girl wearing jeweled flower croc shoes. I asked her where she got them and she told me her parents own a high end children's boutique and sell them there for big bucks. I then stood in line for the next hour staring at her feet and thinking about how these boring shoes I had once hated transformed into an eye-catching fashion statement for children. I immediately started thinking of ideas on how I could make them myself. The ideas began to flow...'I could make them in all different colors and sizes, and oh my gosh how cute would it be if I filled every hole with a jeweled flower instead of just one or two like the girl standing in line!' I got right to work and soon had a pair of crocs with each and every hole filled with a jeweled flower. Wow, they were awesome! One idea led to another...bling binkies for babies, hair/headband flowers and clips, bracelets, etc.

"I have learned something about myself over the years of crafting...it always looks better with more, more, more! When it comes to accessories, my motto is: 'If one is super cute, More is Better!' And that is how I became More is Better! I hope you enjoy all of these fun and fancy accessories, and I can't wait for the show."

Vendor Spotlight and Giveaway: ViVO Candles

We are so thrilled to have ViVO Candles returning as a vendor next week at the Spring Boutique. Owner Christina's wonderful candle fragrances filled more than one of our homes this past holiday season, and we organizers are eager to get our hands on more! Christina says, "I have always loved creating, and my home was my canvas, down to the details. When I looked into candle companies all I could find was mass marketed unnatural candle companies or natural candles that would not go with my decor. The Northwest has always fostered a DIY creative atmosphere, so as a true Oregonian, I got down to the business of candles...ViVO is the byproduct! ViVO is a lively boutique candle company that enjoys vivid scents with a touch ofclever personality placed inside a mixture of soy and coconut wax. Why soy wax + coconut wax? Other than the mere word coconut bringing visions of some far off tropical island with a little umbrella in my drink...mixing these two natural waxes together allows our candles to burnclean, provide exceptional scent throw, and surpass the burn time of traditional soy blend candles. We want our home and yours to be an inviting and healthy place to relax. Have peace of mind that no lead wicks are EVER used. Non-GMO, pesticide free and phthalate free raw materials make up ViVO Candles, and by purchasing a ViVO Candle you are supporting your local, made in America candle company. We should also let you know up front that we aren't above BRIBERY! "Like" us on Facebook (ViVO Candles) and be first in line to our freebies and giveaways! We are serious about safe, fabulous candles, but everything else is fair game for a good laugh!"

Vendor Spotlight and Giveaway: Cardtoons by enc

Emma Cryer is joining us for the first time this spring with her whimsical hand-illustrated Cardtoons. Each card is printed based on an original drawing by Emma, then hand-watercolored, so each Cardtoon is truly one-of-a-kind! The cards are designed to fit easily into any legal-sized envelope, so they are easy to give or send in the mail. Here's what our youngest vendor has to say: "Hi all! I am a fifteen-year-old artist who loves to cartoon! My creation, Cardtoons, are fun note cards that are my original art work. Each one is painted by hand on water color paper, so each one is unique. They're a perfect way to send a 'bright spot' to anyone you love!"

Vendor Spotlight and Giveaway: S. Young Photography

We've been impressed with Stephanie Young's portraits and photographs since we were introduced to her at last November's holiday boutique. Stephanie says, "There are a million photographers and artists out there. I like to think of myself as both! What makes me different than all the other photographers out there? I truly want to capture "you" in every picture I take. I love people and I love art. The lovely invention of the digital camera has made it possible for me to join the two! What started out as a hobby has turned into a business (I'm sure this is a common theme at the Bliss Handmade Boutique). I've had an amazing time the last few years photographing families as they go through weddings, pregnancies, births, toddler milestones, or just simply growing another year together! I strive to be personable, affordable, and to make every session individually tailored to capture your wonderful uniqueness. Bottom line, I just want to take your picture, and I can't wait to meet you! "

Vendor Spotlight and Giveaway: The Flaming Pearl

Today we have the pleasure of introducing you to The Flaming Pearl. Designer Pamela's stunning contemporary jewelry focuses on mixed metals and sterling silver. Here's what Pamela has to say, "Hello! My name is Pamela Pollock. I work out of my tiny home art studio that looks out to my vegetable garden right here in Eugene. I always loved to wear my mother's jewelry when I was little, and was always trying to get her to give it to me. Now the tables are turned and I am always giving my creations to her! My modern metal work features brushed sterling and oxidized sterling with a smattering of brushed gold-filled and high quality gemstones. I have even been know to cast corn husks as a ring! I do a lot of saw piercing to incorporate patterns from nature: twigs, seagrass, trees, and birds. I am always overflowing with ideas as to the next great thing I'm going to make...so stop by and chat, and have a look at my contemporary designs at affordable prices!"

Vendor Spotlight and Giveaway: Quilt Art Ala Carte

Picture
Another new and exciting vendor joining us in a few weeks for the Spring Boutique is Quilt Art Ala Carte. Owner and seamstress extraordinaire Wendy says, "When I was a young girl, my mother, also my best friend, told me that busy hands are the key to a happy life. I really think her motive was to keep me busy in the long, cold winter months! In the past three years I have designed several patterns, which are currently in stores across the US. Most of the items that I offer on my website are one of a kind items. I take my time and carefully create with perfection in mind. I am currently selling purses, aprons, wallets, wall hangings, and quilts. I would be more than happy to custom make a quilt for you as well. I have done several memory quilts in the past. Memory quilts are great because they are a treasury of snap shots and other things that can take a person back in time. My life is like a brilliant patchwork quilt, with each block brilliantly selected by God and stitched with the colorful threads that I love most--family, friends, quilting, sewing, cooking, and dreaming of all the possibilities."

Vendor Spotlight and Giveaway: Somethin' Shiny

Alissa O'Toole joins us this spring with Somethin' Shiny, a handmade collection of beautiful jewelry and hair clips. In her own words, "Alissa O'Toole is the name and beading is my game. I have a husband and a two-year-old son, and in my "spare time" I enjoy exploring any kind of artsy craft, from making jewelry and quilting to painting and knitting. Of course there are many more I would like to do if there were only more time. I'm sure you know what I mean. Somethin' Shiny is my biggest passion though. I love finding the beauty in natural stones and beads to create something to make women feel beautiful or just to make an outfit complete."

Vendor Spotlight and Giveaway: Scentsy

We know, we know. Scentsy is not exactly handmade. But we've had a Scentsy table at Bliss Handmade since our very first boutique back in 2009, and people make a bee-line for it the second they walk in the door! We have a new Scentsy consultant bringing us those intoxicating fragrances this time, Melissa Saunders. Melissa says, "I received my first Scentsy pot as a birthday gift. I immediately fell in love with the smell and the candle-like light. It took me a while to agree to host a party. Then I was hooked and decided to become an independent consultant. Scentsy is a flameless, wickless candle system that melts a specially formulated wax slowly, maximizing the fragrance time of the Scentsy bar. With no flame, soot, smoke, or lead, the Scentsy system is a safe way to enjoy more than 80 delightful Scentsy fragrances. I am a stay at home mom of two kids. Working as an independent consultant for Scentsy gives me the freedom to earn a little bit of extra money while still being there for my family. I am obsessed with the Scentsy scents and trying them all. Come by and check them out. I would love to show you what I am so excited about!"

Vendor Spotlight and Giveaway: Emily Ruth Designs

One of the things we are most excited about with the upcoming Spring Boutique is having enough space to fit all of these wonderful vendors! Emily Ruth contacted us just before our Holiday Boutique last fall, but we would have had the fire marshal on our backs for sure if we'd tried to squeeze one more table into our tiny space! So we are thrilled to finally get to work with her! Here's a bit about Emily Ruth:
"I have been collecting letters since I was a little girl, scouring estate sales and arranging and rearranging them in my room. And quotes? I love quotes! I love how just a few words can be so inspiring and encouraging. I have found a super fun way to combine my love for letters and quotes. I call them mash-ups (yep, I'm a Glee fan)! Great quotes and cool mixes of letters arranged on a canvas with fun little bits and bobbles. Every part of my creations is made from repurposed and recycled items. I get to go to estate sales and thrift stores to find canvases, letters, games, rulers, and lots of cool odds and ends. Then, I pair them up with an awesome quote, and a mash-up is born! I even do custom orders if you've got a quote that you love. Every step of the way from thrifting to creating to meeting customers makes me so happy...and you can quote me on that!"

Vendor Spotlight and Giveaway: Said in Stone

Cindy Shoop is joining us this month with her custom vinyl lettering, gifts, and so much more! With not one, but two lines of beautiful products, this busy lady is a fantastic addition to the Bliss Handmade Spring Boutique. Here's how Cindy describes her shop:
"My name is Cindy, and I started Said in Stone actually as a way to create closing gifts for my clients when I was selling real estate. It has been growing steadily ever since, and now it is my full-time business! I make both personalized and non-personalized home decor and gifts. I recently started another line of products using paper (gifts tags, wedding wish tree tags, banners, etc.)--it has been really fun and exciting to expand a new line. While I will be bringing mostly items from Said in Stone, I will have a few things from the new line, as well as a few Potty Shots for those of you with little boys! I look forward to meeting you at the Bliss Handmade Spring show!"

Vendor Spotlight and Giveaway: Max and Ellie

Max and Ellie is one of the tried-and-true's of Bliss Handmade. This little handmade shop has been with us since our first boutique in 2009! Sisters Melissa and Emily started making things for their own babies over 3 years ago, and when they had made everything they could think of for their own kids, they moved on to friends and neighbors. In 2008 they opened an Etsy shop selling appliqued onesies and t-shirts, baby blankies, boo-boo kits and more, and are now happily making things for babies all over the country! In their own words..."We just love to make things. We love beautiful fabric, colorful felt, fun jewelry, and of course, anything associated with babies! We usually have more ideas than we can handle, so you never know when you'll see something new from us. It's usually the day before the boutique!"

Vendor Spotlight and Giveaway: Dear Prudence

We almost had Dear Prudence as a vendor at a past boutique, and were sad that we missed out on her adorable bags. So we are thrilled that we get to work with her this time around! Here's what Prudence has to say:
"My name is Prudence and I make handbags called Lollibags. My daughter Lauren--whose nickname is Lolli, made the very first Lollibag. One day, she decided to make a new school bag; it was so cute that I asked her to show my how she made it. And that is how Lollibags were born! Over the years, they have changed a lot, and now include 4 different sizes, including one for little girls. Lollibags are machine washable, which makes them very usable. That is very important to me as a stay at home mom to 5 children; my bags get used and dirty!"

Sebold Stitches, featuring beautiful hand-crocheted hats, booties, headbands, and more, is created by Jamie Sebold and her sister, Meranda Green. They say, "We feature fresh and trendy handcrafted crochet items. Right now, we are focusing on baby items, but have done things for all ages. We love to crochet, but it wasn't until recently that we realized there are a lot of really fun, cute things you can make (not your grandma's patterns!). This is a new experience for us, and we can't wait for the Spring Boutique!"

Vendor Spotlight and Giveaway: Launa's Sewing Garden

Launa's Sewing Garden joins us for the first time this Spring with beautiful quilts, oven mitts, clutches, and more. Let's get to know Launa. "Hi, my name is Launa Wright of Launa's Sewing Garden. This is my first boutique in Eugene, although I've participated in a few in Utah and Washington. My mother taught me to sew at the age of 11. I took my first official quilting class while at Fort Sill, Oklahoma many years ago. I have taken many classes since then, and have even taught a few. I like to make quilts for the fun of it, and also for charity events. I have made several quilts for the Mid-Valley Rotary Club Annual Charity Auction, as well as for soliders. I love to see the colors of the fabrics come together and light up the eyes of others."
